Perplexity

AI-powered answer engine that combines live web search with cited, conversational answers.

About Perplexity

Perplexity AI is a conversational AI search engine that answers your questions by searching the web in real time and synthesizing information from authoritative sources — delivering accurate, cited answers instead of a list of links to sort through yourself.

Each response includes inline citations showing exactly which sources support each claim, making it fundamentally more trustworthy than asking a standard chatbot. You can click any citation to verify the source, see where Perplexity searched, and understand the evidence behind each point. This makes Perplexity the right tool when accuracy matters and you need to trace information back to its origin.

Pro Search is the deeper research mode: it asks clarifying questions, searches more sources in parallel, and composes more thorough, nuanced answers to complex questions. It’s particularly useful for competitive research, scientific questions, current events, and any topic where surface-level information isn’t sufficient.

Spaces creates persistent research projects: upload documents alongside web sources, ask questions that draw on both your files and live web results, and build up a curated knowledge base for an ongoing project. You can share Spaces with collaborators and see each other’s questions and findings.

The Discover feed surfaces interesting stories across science, technology, and current events, personalized to your interests — making Perplexity a daily reading tool as well as a research tool.

Perplexity integrates with Claude, GPT-4o, and Sonar for different research depth levels. The free plan includes basic searches and limited Pro searches daily. Perplexity Pro ($20/month) provides unlimited Pro Searches, file uploads, API credits, and image generation.
